Release Notes: Search Tile 2.0, & Mosaic Tile 2.0

Check out the updates in our latest release for the following Products by Social Edge:  Mosaic  Tile & Search Tile

Mosaic 2.0

Updates & Enhancements

  • Google Analytics Tracking - Administrators can add Google Analytics tracking to get advanced insight into interaction with the tile. The new analytics configuration supports either Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. 
  • HTML/CSS section below search input box - Previously, HTML/CSS could only be added above the tile. Now, there is an additional HTML/CSS configuration to add content below the results.

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fix - Remove extra margin below the Mosaic boxes in some column views
  • Bug Fix - HTML/CSS section above the tile not rendering in IE11

 

Search 2.0

Updates & Enhancements

  • Google Analytics Tracking - Administrators can add Google Analytics tracking to get advanced insight into interaction with the tile. The new analytics configuration supports either Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager. 
  • Increased Number of Search Results Panels - Administrators can now add more than three results panels to any search tile to help guide your users to finding the right results.
  • More Results - Search will now return People and Places in the results. Previously it only displayed Content.  Administrators can set this up in the configuration panel. Results will display based on selected configuration in order to make the best use of horizontal space.
    • Admins can also choose to have results open in a new window.
  • Structured Outcomes Visible - End users can now view structured outcomes in search results. 
  • Configurable Size of:
    • Search Box  - The width of the search input box can now be adjusted with a simple slider.
    • Margins - Like other Social Edge tiles, the margins around the display area can be fine-tuned.
  • Create new Call to Action Footer: (e.g. "Ask a Question"). No HTML needed. Administrators can create a call to action in the search results with this new configurable section to the Admin panel (under Theme). Simply type in the copy, urls, and select where to post the questions. It's easy to style to match tile branding.
  • More theming options: Updates to colors and layout defaults in configuration panel.

    • Previous Search Results Footer will be depreciated in this release.

Bug Fixes

  • Bug Fix - Empty title field leads to wrong results
  • Bug Fix - Sub-text formatted with HTML does not display in mobile view
  • Bug Fix - Config panel opens off to the side
  • Bug Fix - After deleting a results panel, view does not display an editable panel
  • Bug Fix - Metadata has extra bullet
  • Bug Fix - Search icon doesn't change colour on hover
  • Bug Fix - Error 403 when cancel is used on a question from 'Post As A Question'
  • Bug Fix - Search tile does not return results within projects and subspaces
  • Bug Fix - When place is deleted, tile does not show results
  • Bug Fix - Promoted results appear in results when search are limited to a place

 

Feature Depreciation & Configuration Notes

The section in the previous version under Add Custom HTML > Search Results Footer will be depreciated in this release. Please see below how this will affect you as you upgrade to the latest version. 

If you currently have HTML in the current Search Results Footer Section.   If you have configured HTML in this section (e.g. "Ask a Question") you can expect the following when you upgrade to v2.0:

  • Your existing HTML will be retained in the Legacy Search Results Footer section and the new Footer mode will be set to "Legacy Footer" 
  • To update to use the new Footer mode, simply select a footer option under the Footer Mode dropdown 

  • Once you select a placement (Left or Centered) the configuration menu will open below

  • Note: Once you select a Footer Mode and configure using the options as shown above, the "Legacy footer" HTML will be removed from the panel, and the HTML section will only contain the options for code above and below the tile.
